The CHESTER FAMILY YMCA has been a place of strength and support since 1978. Over the years we’ve grown and expanded to serve generations of children, families and adults in Chesterfield County. While our programs and facilities have adapted over the years to serve the ever-changing needs of our community, one thing has remained the same—Where we build community matters. 

Today, we need your support to help us create a Chester Y that will serve our community well into the future. A thoughtfully designed, fully accessible, and modern facility will provide an environment that better supports social and physical health for all and allows us to respond to community needs. 

This is why a strong Chester Y is needed more than ever.

In our hallways and lobbies, classrooms and locker rooms - real connections form and children, teens and families grow stronger in spirit, mind and body.

Today, we need your support to help us create a Chester Y that will serve our community well into the future. With your support we can:

  • Improve accessibility to ensure a barrier-free facility;
  • Modernize the wellness center, adding 4,300 square feet including a group exercise studio
  • Create welcoming gathering and community spaces for people to make meaningful connections;
  • Revitalize outdoor spaces to enhance programming opportunities;
  • Improve youth program spaces, including a relocated, expanded and improved Child Watch;
  • Renovated men's and women's locker rooms, and new universal locker room.

Help us pave the way for others to join our community! Create a lasting legacy at the CHESTER FAMILY YMCA to help support the Chester Strong Capital Campaign and help our community thrive. Donors pledging $5,000 and above to the Capital project will be recognized on our Outdoor Donor Recognition Area. Two sizes of recognition will be available, one for donors who donate $5,000 and above and a larger recognition visual to those contributing $10,000 and above.
